Quinn-McCarter

Bethel Presbyterian Church in Clover was the setting Saturday, June 21, 2008, for the marriage of Jennings Carolyn McCarter of Clover and Stanley Travis Quinn of York. The Rev. John Andrew Gess officiated the 5 p.m. ceremony. A reception followed at Bethel Presbyterian Church.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dean McCarter of Clover.

She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Adelle Henry Edmunds and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Henry McCarter. She graduated in 2004 from Limestone College in Gaffney. She is employed at Blacksburg Elementary School as a third grade teacher.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Stanley Quinn of York. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Harold Hogue and Mr. and Mrs. James Lewis Quinn. He graduated from York Technical College in 2000 and is employed with Clover School District.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Maid of honor was April Christine Stiles of Clover.

Bridesmaids were the bridegroom's sister-in-law, Andrea Brook Quinn of York, Heidi Joanna McLean of York, Ashley Joyce Turner, Elizabeth Lynes Maroska, both of Clover and Amber Brown Salter of Columbia.

Flower girls were the bride's sister, Margaret Adelle McCarter of Clover and the bridegroom's niece, Kaiden Brooks Quinn of York.

Best man was the bridegroom's father.

Groomsmen were the bridegroom's brother, James Kyle Quinn of York, Robert Eugene Lineberger, Larry Eugene Moss Jr., both of York, Christopher Michael Flowe of Hickory Grove, the bride's brother, Benjamin Dean McCarter of Rock Hill, and the bridegroom's cousin, Jason Samuel Hogue of Rock Hill.

The wedding was directed by Amy Mullinax Adams.

The bride wore a strapless wedding gown featuring a sweetheart neckline and corset back. Her gown's A-line skirt was embellished with tulle gently caught up at the sides. The skirt and sweep train were accented with lace appliqués, beads and sequins.

The bride also wore a family heirloom cameo that was worn by her great-grandmother, grandmother and mother when they were married.

The bridesmaids wore pink, flare A-line gowns with chiffon straps, chiffon overlay, and a gathered bodice with cascading detail on the sides.

Jay Edward Forrest was the organist and pianist and Erin Patterson Joye was the vocalist at the ceremony.

The newlyweds honeymooned at the coast and will make their home in Clover.
