Bobby Jones
SMYRNA -- Robert "Bobby" Jones, 79, of 4130 Black Highway, died Friday, March 20, 2009, at his home in Smyrna.
The funeral was March 23, 2009, at Enon Baptist Church, with the Rev. Chris Ballard officiating. Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Bobby was a son of the late Victor Jones and Bell Blanton Jones. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church, where he served as a past deacon. Bobby retired from Cannon Mills after 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jones of Smyrna, S.C.; two stepdaughters, Ellen Smith and Cheryl Hamrick; stepson, James W. Nichols Jr.; two sisters-in-law, Vera Jones and Osie Jones; six stepgrandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Jones.

BOWLING GREEN -- Jean Moses, 90, formerly of Bowling Green, S.C., died Friday, March 20, 2009, at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain, N.C.
The funeral service was March 22, 2009, at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Clover, S.C., with the Rev. Harry Bryant officiating. Interment was in Bowling Green Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Moses was born April 16, 1918, in Murphy, N.C., to the late Grover Cleveland and Easter Moss Moses. She was retired from Textile Incorporated of Gastonia, N.C. Mrs. Moses was preceded in death by her husband, Fred M. Moses; son, James Kenneth Moses; brother, Neal Carpenter; and sisters, Elsie Carpenter and Hazel Arrowood.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Grayson of Clover and Betty Jean Haney of Carterville, Ga.; son, Billy Moses of Clover; three sisters, Bertie Jo Cox, Jewell Hawkins and Dot Redding, all of Gastonia, N.C.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

YORK -- Cora Mae Holsclaw, 67, of 111 S. Congress St., died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at White Oak Manor in York.
The funeral was March 21, 2009, at First Wesleyan Church of York. The Rev. Todd Reynolds officiatede. Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery.
A native of York, Cora Mae was a daughter of the late John William and Mary Brandon Holsclaw. She was a member of First Wesleyan Church. She worked at Cannon Mills in York as a Supply Clerk.
She is survived by her sister, Ada Holsclaw Snipes of Rock Hill, S.C., and a number of nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Perry Holsclaw, Mose Holsclaw and Bobby Holsclaw; and her two sisters, Mary Alice Holsclaw and Sue Holsclaw Moose.

YORK -- Martha Jean Watterson Jenkins, 76, of 12979 W. Hwy 55, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at her home in York.

A native of York, Jean was a daughter of the late Carl Monroe Watterson and Julia Dover Watterson. She was the widow of M.L. Jenkins and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Blacksburg.
She is survived by her son, Martin Jenkins and wife, Nelly; two daughters, Susan Parker and husband, Forest, and Patty Cook and husband, Sammy; sister, Merle Watterson Lovelace, all of York; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Player was born March 6, 1983, in Manning to Paul "Tony" and Elaine Lee Player. Lee was a sales representative for B & B Distributors of Rock Hill. He was an avid fisherman and devoted husband and father.
Survivors are his wife, Jenny A. Player; son, Grayson Player; parents, Tony and Elaine Player of Clover; sister, Sara Player of Clover; and paternal grandparents, Johnny and Joann Player of Turbeville. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William and Louise Lee.
