CLOVER -- A potentially violent incident was avoided at Clover Junior High last week after a student was caught with a cache of weapons on school grounds.
Police arrested a 14-year-old boy for possessing weapons at Clover Junior High on June 3, according to a York County Sheriff's Office report. The boy's classmates told teachers around 9 a.m. that he brought knives to school. Authorities detained the student and found two kitchen knives hidden inside his pants, attached to his ankles. He also possessed a 16-inch bamboo rod, the report states.
The boy told authorities he was being bullied and planned to use the weapons to fight back, according to the report. The student was arrested and eventually released into the custody of his parents with a court summons.
