CLOVER --
Last week Jameson Corporation of Clover donated $15,000 to Clover High School’s Applied Technology Center. This is the second donation of the year, resulting in a total donation of $25,000 during the 2009-2010 school year.
Tommy Crates, owner of Jameson, and Steve Hahn, Jameson’s president, met with Clover School District Superintendent Dr. Marc Sosne, Assistant Principal and head of the ATC Robert Johnson, school board member Joe Gordon and other district faculty to deliver the donation.
Crates expressed his appreciation for what the programs at the ATC do for student preparedness. He commended the ATC for preparing students for higher education and future careers in technology and applied science and hopes that his contribution will help the school continue to build programs that produce 21st Century citizens.
Crates also charged other businesses in the community to consider donating to schools and programs in Clover School District, as well.
“I hope that our donation will encourage other community businesses and corporations to see the value of investing in education,” Crates said.
“Jameson’s continued commitment to the greater Clover community and the Clover School District is invaluable. Their on-going financial support helps the district provide experiences for our students that might otherwise not be available,” Sosne said.
The donation will go toward classroom and programs needs at the ATC.
