2 teen runaways caught with stolen truck

YORK -- 

Two teenagers running away from a boys’ home were caught with a stolen truck in York, according to a York Police report.

The incident happened around 3 a.m. Oct. 6. Police received a call reporting a suspicious truck parked behind the American Legion building. Officers responded and saw a white Chevy truck matching the description leave the Legion building.

They followed the truck to the Wellington Square apartments off S.C. 5, where they made a traffic stop.

Police discovered the vehicle was driven by a 15-year-old boy; the passenger was 17. The juveniles admitted they had run away from the Glen Springs boys’ home in Spartanburg County and stole the truck.

They were both arrested.
