Four area football players - including one from York - were included in the South Carolina roster for the 76th annual Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas that was released early Wednesday afternoon.

Lee Wright of York Comprehensive was the York player. The other three from York County area Malcolm Means (Lewisville), Alex Sims (South Pointe), Rontavious McClure (Northwestern).

They were selected to compete against North Carolina’s prep pigskin all-stars Saturday, Dec. 15 at Gibbs Stadium in Spartanburg.

Tickets are $15 and available at the game’s web site, www.shrine-bowl.com. Proceeds from the game support the charity efforts of the Shriners, who have raised over $70 million since the game originated in 1937.
