Entering this week's play, the Lady Blue Eagles were unbeaten with a perfect 12-0 slate in the region.
Head coach Renee Farris, who is no stranger to tennis success at the high school level, noted in an early-season observation that the CHS girls pride themselves in success beyond the tennis court.
“I have a great group of girls,” she said. “They worked hard in the offseason and are committed to the program.”
The Lady Blue Eagles moved to 12-0 on the season with a convincing 6-0 win over region foe Northwestern.
No. 1 singles player Kate Stewart continued her dominant play with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Northwestern's Shakendra Alston, with Harriert Hall, the No. 2 singles player, besting Carolyn Rondina 6-3, 6-1.
Caroline Hester, who plays No. 3, defeated Brooke Harrington 6-0, 6-2.
Other singles results included No. 4 Elizabeth Edmunds over Julisa Tindall 6-0, 6-0 and No. 5 Corey Brom besting Adia Simpkins 6-1, 6-1.
The CHS No. 2 doubles team, Anna Miszkiewicz and Merritt Miller, brought closure to the match with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Northwestern's Callie Plaxco and Marie Burkhart.
In a previous region match, the Lady Blue Eagles defeated South Pointe handily, with Stewart winning with 6-0, 6-0 scores.
Hester, playing No. 2 singles, prevailed 6-0, 6-0 as did Edmunds and Brom at No. 3 and No. 4 by the same score.
Maggie Keefe, playing No. 5, withstood a challenge from South Pointe's Alexis Price to win 6-3, 7-6 sets.
Miszkiewicz and Miller won their No. 2 doubles match, prevailing with ease, 6-0, 6-0.
The CHS girls resume Region 3-AAA play Thursday, hosting Lancaster at 5 p.m. at the CHS courts.
Next will be a non-region match at Union Monday at 5 p.m.
The Lady Blue Eagles close out regular-season play on Thursday, Oct. 18, hosting Spartanburg at 5 p.m.
