More than 200 fifth and sixth graders representing Clovers six elementary schools and two middle schools will join forces Tuesday for the districts third annual choral festival. Students will perform at 7:00 p.m. at the Clover School District Auditorium that is free and open to the community. Before the evening performance, students will spend the afternoon working with the districts secondary choral team including, Cory Dover from Oakridge Middle School, Alex Bromell from Clover Middle School, and Dr. Meredith Cornwell and Jay Forrest, both from Clover High School. Each of the districts elementary and middle school chorus teachers have been planning the district-wide music clinic for months. Angie Sulls, music specialist at Crowders Creek Elementary, says its a special treat for the districts budding vocalists to work alongside the Choraliers at the clinic. During the clinic, the 8-time state champion Choraliers will perform on stage for the younger students. We are fortunate that the CHS Choraliers work with the kids to demonstrate correct choral technique up-close and personal as they sing to them during rehearsal, she said. Imagine how excited our kids are when the high schoolers are signing to them from within 10 feet. This event is a showcase of the collaboration within the district as students and teachers from each of the districts schools come together to showcase the arts.
