Windy Hill Orchard & Cidery hosted its 18th annual Apple Harvest Festival Saturday, with hay rides, scarecrow making, apple cider tasting, music and other activities.

Hundreds of people attended the festivities, which also included the presentation of the Johnny Appleseed story and cider making demonstrations. For more information on Windy Hill, visit the website at www.windyhillorchard.com.

Other fall activities in Western York County include:

Black’s Peaches and Bakery hosts Autumn Farm Festival tours Saturdays and Sundays in October at the farm on S.C. 5 in York. The weekend is designed for pre-school through second-graders and features live farm animals, hay rides, games, mazes, pumpkins, story time and picnic area. The Bush and Vine 2012 Corn Maze is presidential themed and is a bust of George Washington with the words “In God We Trust.” The six-acre maze is located on the farm at 1650 Filbert Highway, York. The maze is open 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturdays through Nov. 3. The last ticket is sold at 2:30 p.m. In addition to the maze is a hiking trail, picnic area and pick your own pumpkins.
