York sign company announced purchase

YORK --

Michael and Debbie Wilson, owners of Diversified Sign and Graphics in York, have announced the recent acquisition of the company by Marcus Higgins and John Elvington.

Diversified Signs, a full-service wholesale architectural sign company offering consultation, design, fabrication and installation throughout the Southeast, specializes in quick-turn manufacturing.

“I am excited about this new chapter in the history of Diversified Sign and Graphics,” said Wilson. “I have been working in the signage industry for more than 30 years, and I see in Marcus and John, quite a few of the same traits Diversified has practiced since its founding in 1999. Their relationships with sign resellers will help us make a lasting impression in our industry and set us on a path toward greater growth.”

Wilson said he will remain with Diversified and oversee the company’s fabrication and installation departments.

Higgins and Elvington decided to acquire Diversified Signs not only because of the strong manufacturing foundation, but also because of the dedication and experience of the existing staff. Together, Higgins and Elvington have nearly a quarter century of work growing other signage businesses.

“In Diversified Signs, we see an opportunity to grow the business by offering sign companies a partner that will fabricate and install signage for custom projects with tight lead-times,” said Higgins.

Higgins worked as a vice president of operations for a national sign company. Elvington has managed sales during his 15 years in the signage industry and most recently worked as vice president of sales for a national sign company.
