CLOVER --
A Blacksburg man was cited for animal control violations after his three pit bulls got loose and attacked cows on Cedar Grove Road in Clover, according to a York County Sheriff's Report.
The dogs chewed the ear of one of the cows, but the livestock didn't require veterinary care after the attack. Animal Control took custody of one of the dogs, which later died from injuries it received during the attack, the report states.
Officials later located and cited the dogs' owner, 21-year-old Phillip Haney.
