YORK The Inaugural Zac Fuesser Pitching Camp will be Saturday at the York Comprehensive High School baseball field.
The camp, for ages 8 to 15, will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at a cost of $20 per participant.
All proceeds will benefit the Western York County Relay for Life.
Fuesser, a 2008 graduate of YCHS and former South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year in the Palmetto State, is pitching in the minor league system of the Pittsburg Pirates franchise.
He recently returned from a two-month stint in the Australian Winter League with the Adelaide Bite.
Assisting in the instruction will be former major league pitcher Jeff Johnson of the New York Yankees and Texas Rangers and Brandon Williams, former Fort Mill High School grad and Pirate farmhand.
Also providing instruction will be the York Comprehensive High School baseball staff and players.
T-Shirts will be included to all that pre-register. Checks should be made to the York Comprehensive High School baseball program.

York rec plans baseball, softball sign ups
YORK The York Parks and Recreation Department is now registering for the following sports:
• Dixie youth baseball for ages 9 to 12. Participants must be 9 years old and cannot turn 13 before May 1.
• ASA girls’ fast pitch softball for ages 7 to 12. A player’s league age is determined by their age as of December 31, 2012.
Birth certificate is required at registration for all participants. Registration fee is $35 for all participants.
Deadline to register is 7 p.m. Tuesday February 26. Late registration will be held Feb. 27 and 28, with an additional $10 penalty added to the registration fee. Registration times are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays.

Clover holding adult kickball registration
CLOVER The Clover Recreation Department is now holding team registration for spring adult kickball.

Cougars basketball camp planned
YORK The annual Future Cougars Basketball Camp for boys and girls ages 5 to 15 will be June 24-27 at the York Comprehensive High School main gym and auxiliary gym.
Instructional sessions focusing on the fundamentals of the game will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. each day. Cost is $60 per child.
Instruction will be provided by York Comprehensive High School coaches and players.

Cougars’ 2013 football schedule announced
YORK The York Comprehensive High School football team’s 2013 football schedule has been announced.
The Cougars once again will host the Bank of York Preseason Scrimmage as a prelude to regular season play. The Union County High School Yellow Jackets will provide opposition for the annual event at the YCHS stadium.
Regular season games begin with the Cougars hosting the Chester Cyclones on Aug. 23. All games for the coming season have a 7:30 p.m. starting time.
The following week, Aug. 30, will be an open date.
After traveling to Boiling Springs to play the Bulldogs, the Cougar Nation will be treated to four consecutive home games in the 6,500-seat Cougar Den.
Kennan kicks off the home slate of games on Sept 6.
The following week, Sept. 13, perennial power Gaffney comes to town.
After a home date with Kennan on Sept. 20, the Rock Hill Bearcats visit the YCHS stadium, with Fort Mill closing out the home stretch of games on Oct. 4.
The Cougars travel to Lancaster Oct. 11 to face the Bruins and return home the following week to battle a Nation Ford team that is on the rise.
The YCHS team, ranked in the top 10 4A poll most of last season, will battle top 10 teams in successive weeks, beginning Oct. 25 at Northwestern, facing a team that advanced to the state championship game last season.
Perennial powerhouse South Pointe comes to town Nov. 1 to close out the regular season home schedule.
The Cougars conclude the regular season at rival Clover, where first-year coach Chad Smith has arrived to pump new life into the program.
YCHS football camp planned June 17-20
YORK The York Comprehensive High School Football Summer Camp for boys will be June 17-20 at the YCHS stadium.
Head Coach Bobby Carroll said camp organizers once again will be partnering with the Carolina Panthers. More information will be announced, he said.
