First Baptist plans Fat Tuesday event
YORK The youth of First Baptist Church in York will sponsor their annual Fat Tuesday Fund Raiser at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12 in the church fellowship hall.
The menu will include pancakes, eggs, grits and sausage and milk, coffee or juice. Donations will be accepted at the door, with proceeds to benefit the youth summer mission fund.
Ash Wednesday service set
YORK First Presbyterian Church of York will hold a meal in the McNeal Fellowship Hall at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, followed by the Ash Wednesday Service at 6:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center.
All youth are being encouraged to register for the ski trip, which will be Feb. 8-10. Contact Lisa Hamilton to register.
St. Paul church plans oyster stew
CLOVER St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1550 St. Paul Church Road, Clover, will host an oyster stew from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9.

Ramah women plan poor man’s supper
YORK The Women of Ramah Presbyterian Church, 980 Ramah Church Road, York, are sponsoring a Poor Man’s Supper from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9.
The menu includes pinto beans, vegetable soup, cabbage, slaw, corn bread, desserts, and drinks.
Cost for adults is $7 and children ages 3 to 12 are $3. Children younger than 3 are free.
Church presents ‘New York Dreams’
LAKE WYLIE River Hills Community Church, 104 Hamiltons Ferry Road, Lake Wylie, presents its second annual Mystery Dinner Theater: “New York Dreams” by Nancy Bond.
Show times are 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 and 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10.
In the show, Guests of Hotel Gem have come to New York City to fulfill their hopes and dreams, but an unexpected event reeks havoc and a crime unfolds. The play is suitable for adults of all ages and children ages 10 and older. Proceeds will be used for mission trips for Amplify, the youth group.
Tickets are $20 each for reserved seating, dinner and the show. Childcare is included; reservation is required.
Tickets are available in the church office during the week and Sundays after services through Feb. 6. No tickets will be sold the day of show. Church hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon Friday.
Bible studies held Wednesday
LAKE WYLIE Community Women’s and Grades one to three Bible studies are held from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. Wednesdays at River Hills Community Church to share the books of Amos and Isaiah concerning prophecies of Jesus Christ.
CBS is an international Bible study that is nondenominational and unaffiliated with any church, open to all women of all faiths and knowledge levels.
The study includes morning devotional, small group discussion of home-study questions and a large group review.
A nursery and preschool class also are available. Grades 1-3 have their own core group and lecture studying Amos and Isaiah.
