Cougar winter guard teams place in state event

— The York Comprehensive High School varsity winter guard came in second place Saturday at the state championships in Summerville. The varsity winter guard is comprised of 16 students.

In addition, the YCHS junior varsity winter guard came in third place at the state championships. The junior varsity group is comprised of 26 students ranging from grades six to 12.

The competition was at Ashley Ridge High School in Summerville. The YCHS color guard program will be seeking new members for the fall. Students in grades eight to 12 grade may try out. The try outs will be held in April.
