Hillcrest Baptist plans yard sale, single mom event
YORK Hillcrest Baptist Church in York, on S.C. 49 going toward Sharon, will have a yard sale starting at 6 a.m. Saturday, April 6. The event is open to the public and admission is free.
The church also will host a Mothers Matter single moms event from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 20. Admission is free. Guest speakers will be Ainslee House Moss, founder of Tender Hearts Ministries in York, and York Police Officer Timothy Moss.
The Mothers Matter event will include lunch, special singing, a free gift, a free clothing closet for the family and child care. Those who plan to attend are asked to call the church at 684-9409 by April 13.
Mt. Vernon UMC serves lunch Sunday
HICKORY GROVE Mt. Vernon UMC, 2160 Smithford Road, will hold first Sunday lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 7.
Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children 10 and younger. All take-out plates cost $8.

LAKE WYLIE The Good Samaritan United Methodist Women will have a yard sale from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13 at the church, at the corner of S.C. 49 and S.C. 274 in Lake Wylie, across from Food Lion. Hot dogs and baked goods will be available.
Adnah church plans gospel sing
ROCK HILL A spring gospel sing, featuring the Central Baptist Bluegrass Singers, will be 6 p.m. Saturday, April 20 at Adnah United Methodist Church, 1 Adnah Drive, Rock Hill.
The music concert also will include a homemade hamburger dinner.

Singles groups meeting
LAKE WYLIE New River Community Church is holding two singles groups, both meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesdays.
• FUSION is for anyone out of high school to age 24. The group meets at a member home in York. Singles can build friendships through studying God’s Word together, serving in the community, having fun, and discussing challenges of life.
• Singles Gatherings is for adults ages 25 and older. The group meets at the church, 133 Carroll Cove Road. Connection and Bible study are the primary focuses. Child care is provided for children 10 and younger.

Bible studies held Wednesday
LAKE WYLIE Community Women’s and Grades one to three Bible studies are held from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. Wednesdays at River Hills Community Church to share the books of Amos and Isaiah concerning prophecies of Jesus.
CBS is an international Bible study that is nondenominational and unaffiliated with any church, open to all women of all faiths and knowledge levels.
