CLOVER It was going to be an ordinary school day for 5-year-old Triron James Jr. Then the dad he hadn’t seen since June — U.S. Army Sgt. Triron James — walked in and hoisted Triron and his younger brother on his shoulder.
“How did you get here?” Triron asked in stunned surprise . His brother, 3-year-old Makhi, just beamed silently.
Sgt. James, 30, who has been stationed in Kuwait, was reunited with his two sons after a 10-month absence in front of about 350 cheering Kinard Elementary students during a Monday morning school assembly.
“It means a whole lot,” Sgt. James said of the public reunion. “I can’t even fathom what to say about it.”
