Healing ministry session May 19

A healing ministry information session, under the auspices of the International Order of St. Luke the Physician, will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 19 at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church, 5220 Crowders Cove Lane, Lake Wylie. Journey class plans yard sale

The Journey Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church in York will have a yard sale at 7 a.m. May 18 in the church fellowship hall. Proceeds will go to scholarships for graduating seniors at First Baptist who will be beginning college or technical school in the fall.

Donations to the yard sale will be accepted from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 16, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, May 17.

Kings Mountain UMC plans yard sale

A large yard sale hosted by the women of Kings Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church will begin at 7 a.m. Saturday, June 1 at the church at Philbeck Road and S.C. 161, York.

Spaces of 12-foot by 12-foot for individuals, families or groups are $5 each. The event is open to the community.

Sausage biscuits and hot dogs will be sold and a bake sale is planned. Proceeds will go to local missions project. For details, contact Jackie Hicks 803-222-4731 or email her at jbhicks9800@aol.com

New Beginnings seeks volunteers

Volunteers are needed for God’s Kitchen, a ministry of New Beginnings Baptist Church that delivers meals to at least 120 shut-ins each day.

Volunteers also are being sought for the Lighthouse Thrift Store, which helps to provide housing for the homeless. Volunteers will help with daily operations including delivery, pickup and sorting donations.

Tent revival planned in Clover

A tent revival with evangelist Scott Callahan of Fort Mill will be held in Clover, at U.S. 321 and Hawthorne Lane, from Tuesday, May 14 to Saturday, May 18.

The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. nightly. The event is open to the community. It will include live music, singing and prayers for the sick.

Community Cafe serving lunch

The Community Cafe offers free weekly lunches 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays at Lake Wylie Christian Assembly.

The Cafe at Lake Wylie Lutheran Church in Fort Mill serves lunch 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tirzah church has fishing club

Tirzah ARP Church, Mount Gallant Road, York, has started a kids’ fishing club that meets on the third Saturday of each month.

Age divisions are younger than 6 and 7-11. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Fish are measured and prizes awarded. The group is open to the community.
