Clover author to be featured at SC Book Fest

May 15, 2013

— Clover author Dori Sanders will be a featured presenter at the 17th annual SC Book Festival that will be held Friday-Sunday, May 17-19, at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

Sanders will debut “Her Own Place: A Novel” at the festival. She also is the author of “Dori Sanders’ Country Cooking” and award-winning novel, “Clover.” Her writing inspiration comes from her life growing up on the farm.

Sanders lives on her family’s land, which is one of the oldest black-owned farms in the country. When she is not writing, she is making public speaking appearances and managing the Sanders’ Peach Shed.

The SC Book Festival’s weekend activities will feature more than 100 award-winning authors discussing their literary works and other interesting topics. Authors will be autographing copies of books and have books available for purchase. All seats for author presentations are on a first-come basis.

More than 75 exhibitors will have booths – including several antiquarian booksellers.

In addition, a series of writing workshops are being offered with authors, publicists, publishers and other industry professional to learn about best practices in writing and publishing.
