Weeping Mary plans breast cancer benefit

Weeping Mary Baptist Church, U.S. 321 North, Bowling Green, will have an Earth Angel Breast Cancer Foundation pancake fundraiser from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25 at Applebee’s, 3628 E. Franklin Blvd., Gastonia, N.C.

Hillcrest Baptist to host gospel sing

Hillcrest Baptist Church on S.C. 49, between York and Sharon, will host a gospel sing featuring the Martins at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 8. The Martins are regulars on television with Bill and Gloria Gaither.

Admission is free, but a love offering will be taken. The event is open to the public. For details, call the church at 803-684-9409.

Pine Grove to host Hinson Girls concert

The Hinson Girls will be in concert at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 26 at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Lake Wylie. The Hinson Girls are four sisters from Lancaster who have been performing bluegrass gospel music since December 2009.

Kings Mountain UMC plans yard sale

A large yard sale hosted by the women of Kings Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church will begin at 7 a.m. Saturday, June 1 at the church at Philbeck Road and S.C. 161, York.

Spaces of 12-foot by 12-foot for individuals, families or groups are $5 each. The event is open to the community.

Sausage biscuits and hot dogs will be sold and a bake sale is planned. Proceeds will go to local missions project. For details, contact Jackie Hicks 803-222-4731 or email her at jbhicks9800@aol.com

New Beginnings seeks volunteers

Volunteers are needed for God’s Kitchen, a ministry of New Beginnings Baptist Church that delivers meals to at least 120 shut-ins each day.

Volunteers also are being sought for the Lighthouse Thrift Store, which helps to provide housing for the homeless. Volunteers will help with daily operations including delivery, pickup and sorting donations.

Community Cafe serving lunch

The Community Cafe offers free weekly lunches 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays at Lake Wylie Christian Assembly.

The Cafe at Lake Wylie Lutheran Church in Fort Mill serves lunch 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tirzah church has fishing club

Tirzah ARP Church, Mount Gallant Road, York, has started a kids’ fishing club that meets on the third Saturday of each month.

Age divisions are younger than 6 and 7-11. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Fish are measured and prizes awarded. The group is open to the community.
