York police officer honored

Cpl. Bill Stiles with the York Police Department has been recognized by the S.C. Law Enforcement Network and awarded the DUI Hero bronze award pin for DUI arrests made in 2012.

The bronze DUI Hero award is presented to law enforcement officers who have made between 10 and 24 DUI arrests during all of 2012. Stiles made all of his DUI arrests in about four months because he did not begin working for the York Police Department until August 2012.

The state network is coordinated by the S.C. Department of Public Safety’s Office of Highway Safety. York is one of 11 participating agencies in the 16th Judicial Circuit of York and Union counties.
