Woodlawn church plans garden project

Woodlawn Presbyterian Church will host an organizational meeting for a Community Garden Project in western York County. The meeting will be 4 p.m. July 14 in the fellowship hall at the church on Woodlawn Street in Sharon.

Clinton Chapel plans Bible school

Clinton Chapel AME Zion Church, California Street, York, will have its vacation Bible school kick off at 5 p.m. June 30. Bible school will be 6:30-8 p.m. July 1 and 2. Classes are offered for all ages.

Broad River plans revival

Broad River Baptist Church, Legion Road, Smyrna, will have a revival at 7 p.m. June 27-29 with the Rev. Dean Patton. Special music will be performed nightly.

First Presbyterian plans Bible school

First Presbyterian Church, West Liberty Street, York, will have vacation Bible school July 14-19 with Trinity United Methodist. Participants can register at the church office.

Gold Hill plans youth event

Gold Hill Baptist Church, S.C. 49, York, will have a Youth Explosion at 2:30 p.m. June 30. Area choirs, praise teams and dancers are invited.

New Beginnings seeks volunteers

Volunteers are needed for God’s Kitchen, a ministry of New Beginnings Baptist Church that delivers meals to at least 120 shut-ins each day.

Volunteers also are being sought for the Lighthouse Thrift Store, which helps to provide housing for the homeless. Volunteers will help with daily operations including delivery, pickup and sorting donations. For details, contact the Rev. Ricou Williams at the church, 706 Old N. Community Cafe serving lunch

The Community Cafe offers free weekly lunches 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays at Lake Wylie Christian Assembly.

The Cafe at Lake Wylie Lutheran Church in Fort Mill serves lunch 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tirzah church starts kids’ fishing club

Tirzah ARP Church, Mount Gallant Road, York, has started a kids’ fishing club that meets on the third Saturday of each month. Age divisions are younger than 6 and 7-11. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Fish are measured and prizes awarded. The group is open to the community.
