Fishing Creek plans back-to-school rally

Fishing Creek Baptist Church, Springlake Road, York, will have a back-to-school rally at 11 a.m. Aug. 10 for all community children and parents.

Financial Peace U. begins Aug. 21

Oakdale Presbyterian Church, 12585 W. S.C. 55, Clover, will begin Financial Peace University classes at 7 p.m. Aug. 21.

Weeping Mary plans revival

Weeping Mary Baptist Church, U.S. 321 North, Bowling Green, will host a revival at 10:45 a.m. Aug. 11 with the Rev. Robert L. McCaskill.

Mount Harmony plans homecoming

Mount Harmony United Methodist Church, Ridge Road, Clover, will host a homecoming at 10 a.m. Aug. 11 with the Rev. Sharon Spann Gamble and 3 p.m. with the Rev. Jackie Carter-Harris.

A revival will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 12-14 with the Rev. Edwin Ferguson.

Join tours to Turkey, Israel

Dr. Charles Ford and wife Barbara invite the community to join them on tours to historical lands of the Eastern Mediterranean.

First is a tour of central Turkey, leaving Charlotte on Oct. 14. The second is a tour of central and northern Israel with an option to tour Jordan, leaving Charlotte on March 10.

The Fords have spent more than three years living, traveling and working in the Middle East. They have hosted many tours, including a recent trip to Israel and Jordan.

New Beginnings seeks volunteers

Volunteers are needed for God’s Kitchen, a ministry of New Beginnings Baptist Church that delivers meals to at least 120 shut-ins each day.

Volunteers also are being sought for the Lighthouse Thrift Store, which helps to provide housing for the homeless.

Volunteers will help with daily operations including delivery, pickup and sorting donations.

Community Cafe serving lunch

The Community Cafe offers free weekly lunches 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesdays at Lake Wylie Christian Assembly.

The Cafe at Lake Wylie Lutheran Church in Fort Mill serves lunch 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.

Tirzah church plans homecoming

Tirzah ARP Church, Mount Gallant Road, York, will have a Homecoming, Aug. 11 with the Rev. Barry Eller.

A covered-dish lunch will follow. Special services will be 7 p.m. Aug. 11-14.
