Applications accepted for LYCO

The chambers of commerce of York County are accepting applications for the 2013-2014 Leadership York County program. Deadline is Aug. 20.

LYCO begins in September with an opening reception, followed by an overnight teambuilding and planning retreat where the group of 30 class members work together to “adopt” a cause they will address through the development of a group service project. The selected project will offer opportunities for professional and personal leadership development, and will benefit a York County nonprofit agency.

Beyond the service component, the course continues monthly for seven months as area leaders in business, government, media, education and health services come together to inform and enlighten participants on multiple challenges facing York County, as well as our many successes. The program culminates with graduation activities in spring 2014.

Applications for LYCO are available online at yorkcountychamber.com and through any of the local chambers of commerce including the York County Regional, Greater Clover, Greater York and Lake Wylie chambers of commerce. Tuition costs $650 per person for chamber member businesses and $850 per person for nonmembers.

For applications or more information, call 803-324-7500 or visit yorkcountychamber.com.
