— Twin Rivers is now open for lunch takeout, with plans for a full grand opening this weekend.

“Everything’s looking good, and we’re in line to make it happen,” said co-owner and general manager Marc Biscornet.

The lunch takeout opened earlier this month as a way to test new employees and a few menu items. Hours are 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday-Friday. Orders can be placed by calling 803-831-9880.

The dinner grand opening is scheduled Saturday, followed by brunch Sunday. A soft opening will be Friday night.

The front area of the restaurant, long home to the iconic rat statue when the building was The River Rat, will now feature a double waterfall for Twin Rivers.

Also in Lake Wylie at Plantation Square, Shia Asian Bistro owners say they are now looking at a mid-September opening. The restaurant is hiring bartenders, wait staff and other positions. Applications are available at 4547 Charlotte Hwy., suite 104.
