York police: Man apologizes for attempted theft of energy drinks

September 17, 2013

— A man trying to steal energy drinks apologized and then ran away when he was caught by a store clerk, according to a York Police report.

The report states that a clerk at the Bi-Lo grocery store on East Liberty Street last week saw a man put two energy drinks down the front of his pants. She looked at him and said, “Really?”

The man then handed the drinks to the store clerk, apologized and fled the store.

Police were called and asked to put the man on trespass notice, but he could not be located. He is described as a white male in his early 20s with tattoos on his arm.
