Millions can’t be wrong about Obamacare

I would like to comment on the recent Letter to the Editor from Harry Dalton, titled “Get the facts about Affordable Care Act.” There are several statements in this letter that are troubling.

Mr. Dalton says that “frankly I believe that most citizens who oppose the Affordable Care Act listen more to opinions of friends, party leaders and conservative TV talk show hosts than use their own heads.” What an arrogant statement.

The latest polling shows that 60 percent of the American people want this health care bill repealed, and even a higher percentage want it rewritten. Some unions have come out against this bill. Are we to assume that none of these millions of people have done any research?

Mr. Dalton also berates the GPS Conservatives for Action for trying to encourage young people to burn their “Obamacare draft cards.” Once again, the polling is clear. Young people are not the least bit interested in the health care bill. Why do you think the Obama administration has recruited the likes of Katy Perry and other Hollywood morons to help sell this bill to the young?

Mr. Dalton also believes that Obamacare will somehow cut costs in the health care industry. The facts are the Congressional Budget Office has revised its cost estimates several times since the inception of this bill, and it has always revised the numbers up.

The independent bean counters, with no political ax to grind, say this bill has the potential to bankrupt this country.

On the jobs issue, 80 percent of the jobs created this year were part time. The reason our business leaders are giving is Obamacare.

A few months back Sen. Max Baucus and Sen. Harry Reid, both Democrats who helped write the Affordable Care Act, said “This bill is a train wreck.”

I think they got it right!
