YORK — A 3-year-old was airlifted to a Charlotte hospital after being struck by an SUV Wednesday afternoon in York
York Police responded to the vehicle vs. pedestrian accident in the 400 block of Charlotte Street around 4:15 p.m., according to a release from Chief Andy Robinson.
Police say the boy ran out in front of a 2009 Ford SUV and was struck.
Police are unsure if the boy was playing, but Robinson said several other children were nearby when the accident happened.
The child was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center, where his precise condition was unknown Thursday morning. Robinson said he received word that the boy was doing much better than he was Wednesday.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured and is not facing any charges.
