York Little Cougar All-Star players to be recognized

October 29, 2013

— The York Parks and Recreation Department and the York Little Cougars will recognize all-star selections during a Nov. 6 banquet.

The event will be from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. at the York Comprehensive High School cafeteria. The York Little Cougars competed in Southland Youth Football play this season.

“There are players who are ready for the next level,” said York Little Cougars head football coach Shane Benfield. “The York Parks and Recreation and the York Little Cougars would like to honor and recognize those all-star caliber players.”

Benfield said coaches are submitting all-star selections.

The York Little Cougars competed in three divisions this season, 8U, 10U and 12U this season. The 10U players doubled up to participate in 12U due to a shortage of players in that division.

Benfield said all-star players selectees and their parents will be honored at the banquet and players will receive a certificate of appreciation.
