Spencer Carroll tosses touchdown passes at Limestone scrimmage

From staff reportsNovember 19, 2013

— Former Cougar signal-caller Spencer Carroll, a three-year starter and all-region selection, threw two touchdown passes in Limestone College’s inaugural scrimmage.

The scrimmage was a prelude to the 2014 football season at the Gaffney-based four-year, coeducational liberal arts college.

Carroll, the son of York Comprehensive High School head coach Bobby Carroll, threw a touchdown pass to begin the first quarter and had a TD toss to begin the third quarter.

“We are bonding and coming together as a team,” the younger Carroll said. “I love it at Limestone. Football is a religion in Gaffney. We had 1,500 fans for a scrimmage.”

He added: “It felt good throwing the touchdown passes. We can’t wait for our first season to get here.”
