Clover to host tree lighting, Christmas parade this weekend

— The Clover community will have a Christmas tree lighting from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29 at Centennial Park, 101 N. Main St. in downtown Clover.

The event is sponsored by the Greater Clover Chamber of Commerce. Santa Claus will visit, hot chocolate and cookies will be served, and local stores will be open late for Christmas shopping.

Clover will have Christmas Movie in the Park, featuring “The Polar Express,” at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30 at New Centre Park.

Pre-show activities begin at 5 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to wear pajamas; hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows will be available. Admission is free. Bring your own blanket and chair. Pets, tobacco and coolers are not permitted.

The Clover Christmas Parade begins at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1 at Main Street and ends near Ultra Avenue. The theme is “Have a Merry Local Christmas.”
