Brattonsville to host Christmas candlelight tours

— Historic Brattonsville will present its annual Christmas candlelight tours from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 and Dec. 14 at the restored plantation on Brattonsville Road.

Christmas Candlelight Tours will feature five theatrical venues throughout the site. The running theme will be the joy and excitement of Christmas, and examining where holiday traditions originated and how they came to be enjoyed in the Carolina Piedmont.

A historically-dressed St. Nicolas will share history of Santa Claus and visit with children. From 3-6 p.m., dip your own candle, make paper ornaments and string a popcorn garland. Brass Quartet play traditional Christmas melodies from 6 to 9 pm.

The Friends of Historic Brattonsville will have hot drinks, seasonal foods home-baked goods for sale. Admission: $10 for adults; seniors, $8; youths 4-17, $5; 3 and younger and CHM members, free.
