Report: York man pointed gun at repo men, chased them away

January 10, 2014

— A York man is accused of pointing a gun at and then chasing away two men trying to repossess his car, according to a York County Sheriff's Office report.

William Douglas Owens, 58, is charged with two counts of pointing and presenting a firearm, the report states.

He is accused of chasing two North Carolina men down Hwy. 49 and Dr. Nichols Road early Friday morning before deputies pulled him over during a felony car stop. Owens "started rambling about him being the executor of an estate" and told officers they couldn't arrest him or they would "be charged for treason," according to the report.

His car was towed and Owens was taken to the York County Detention Center, where bond was set at $2,000.
