Six York students to compete in district spelling bee

January 15, 2014 

— The York school district’s annual spelling bee will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28 at the district office board room.

One student from each York elementary and intermediate school will be represented.

The participants are, Charles Gordon, Cotton Belt Elementary; De’Mahrion Walls, Harold C. Johnson Elementary; Jevon Long, Hickory Grove-Sharon Elementary; Suzie Carver, Hunter Street Elementary; Angelica Velasco, Jefferson Elementary; and Anthonella Mendoza, York Intermediate.

The winner of the York spelling bee will represent the school district in the regional spelling bee Feb. 24 in Charlotte.
