Steep Canyon Rangers to perform Jan. 17 in York

YORK The Steep Canyon Rangers performs at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 17, McCelvey Center, 212 E. Jefferson St., York.

The Grammy-award winning band from Brevard, N.C., is known for their bluegrass groove laced with agile picking, sprightly harmonies and crafty songwriting.

Recent appearances include “Austin City Limits,” “The Late Show with David Letterman” and “The Today Show,” and venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Grand Ole Opry.

The Steep Canyon Rangers album, “Nobody Knows You,” won a 2013 Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album. The band's most recent release, “Tell The Ones I love,” was recorded almost entirely live.
