From staff reportsJanuary 30, 2014

— The York Comprehensive High School Cougar band program will host its annual fish fry for the 35th year Saturday and Sunday.

The fry will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2 in the cafeteria at York Middle School, 1010 Definney Road, York.

Tickets are $9 and can be purchased at the door. All-you-can-eat is dine-in only. Take-out plates are available.

Plates include fish, fries or baked potato, slaw, hush puppies, water and tea.

The students are raising funds to help them go on the “Broadway Blast” trip to New York, N.Y. in April and future trips. While in New York this spring they plan to go see two Broadway Shows, two Broadway workshops, tour St. Patrick’s Cathedral, tour the Lincoln Center, visit the 9/11 Memorial and more.

The students want to raise $15,000 to $20,000 at the weekend events.

The band students have been selling pre-sale tickets and will be serving the community patrons this weekend.
