York names school Teachers of the Year

— The York school district has named its 2014 school-level Teacher of the Year.

They are:

York Comprehensive High School, Mark Wyndham

Floyd D. Johnson Technology Center, Michelle Campbell

York Middle School, Anne Witte

York Intermediate School, Julie McGee

York One Academy, Terry Foster

Cotton Belt Elementary School, Amy McSwain

H.C. Johnson Elementary School, Ashley Yon

Hickory Grove/Sharon Elementary School, Harper

Hunter Street Elementary School, Amber Faulkenberry

Jefferson Elementary School, Connie Lowry

The 10 York teachers are candidates for the district Teacher of the Year honor. They have submitted a portfolio for review and will be interviewed by a committee in late May which will determine the winner of the district honor.

The district-level honoree will be announced at the York school district’s opening day assembly in August.
