YCHS spring football game kicks off Thursday

The York Comprehensive High School spring football game will be at 5 p.m. Thursday at the YCHS stadium.

The York Touchdown Club will feed the players after the game. The menu includes hot dogs, beverages and cookies.

June basketball camp hosted by York coaches

For the first time, the boys’ and girls’ varsity basketball coaches will team up to host the 15th annual summer basketball camp.

The camp, which has in the past been hosted exclusively by the girls’ coaches, will be 9 to 11:30 a.m. June 23-26 at the YCHS gyms. The camp is for ages 5 to 15.

The Cougar and Lady Cougar coaching staffs and varsity players will provide instruction.

Multi-child discount is $10 per child and there is a $10 discount for the children of York School District employees. Only one discount can be used.

Camp activities will focus on the fundamentals of the game, including dribbling, footwork, shooting, defense and ball-handling.

Campers can pick up a form at York Recreation Center or at any of the schools or register on June 23. Campers will receive a free T-shirt.

Lady Blue Eagles’ basketball camp begins July 14

The first Clover High School all girls basketball camp will be at 7:30 a.m. July 14 to 17.

The camp director is Shakkia Walker, assistant girls’ basketball coach at CHS. The Lady Blue Eagle coaching staff, players and former players will provide instruction.

Pre-registration is recommended, with final registration to be at 4:30 p.m. July 14. Multi-child discount is $10 per child.

Camp day activities will focus on the fundamentals of the game, including dribbling, footwork, shooting, defense and ball-handling.

Blue Eagles Basketball Camp planned

The Clover High School Blue Eagles Basketball Camp will be 9 to 11:30 a.m. June 9 to 12.

The camp, for students in kindergarten through sixth grade, will be at Clover High School at a cost of $55 per participant. The cost includes 10 hours of instruction, T-shirt and prizes.

Pre-registration is recommended, with final registration set for 8:30 a.m. Monday, June 9.
