CLOVER — After practice sessions this month, the Clover High School football team will play a spring game 7 p.m. Friday at Clover’s Memorial Stadium.
Following three preseason scrimmages and participation in the Aug. 15 Pickens Jamboree, the Blue Eagles of second-year head coach Chad Smith open the 2014 season Aug. 22 at Westside High School.
Next is another road game across the border at Forestview, followed by the first home game of the 2014 season against Westwood Aug. 29.
Following an open date Sept. 26, the Blue Eagles begin Region 3-AAAA play Oct. 3 at home against cross county rival Fort Mill.
The CHS football team will close out region play and the regular season Nov. 7 at longtime rival York. All Blue Eagle football games begin at 7:30 p.m.
Mandatory two-a-day practices for 10th- to 12th-graders begin at 12:01 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1 in the form of Midnight Madness.
Freshmen will begin practice Aug. 4.
The Blue Eagles have undergone a weight lifting and conditioning program since the conclusion of the 2013 season.
