CLOVER — A South Carolina man has been accused of sexually assaulting and threatening two children while he dated their mother in Clover, deputies say.
Last October, the grandfather of an 8-year-old boy told deputies that he took his grandson to see a doctor after noticing signs of possible sexual abuse on the boy, a York County Sheriff’s report states. The grandson said his mother’s boyfriend, identified later as Andree Tyson, sexually assaulted and threatened him while the boyfriend lived at their home in Clover. Deputies learned the mother moved to North Carolina and Tyson, 31, lived in Chesterfield County. The boy was in his grandfather’s custody.
Deputies continued investigating over several months, finally interviewing the boy again and his sister, 13, the report states. During those interviews, the children said they had been sexually abused. Deputies issued warrants on Tyson, charging him with first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
Alongside Chesterfield County authorities, investigators on Monday searched for Tyson at his home in Cheraw. No one was home when they arrived, but Tyson later returned home and was arrested.
He is held at the York County Detention Center without bond.
