Police: York man charged with attempted murder

July 8, 2014

— A York man faces attempted murder charged after he fired a shotgun at a man during an argument.

York Police say they were called to a home on Eighth Street around 10:30 p.m. July 5. The suspect, Ronald Lavern Hunnicutt, 41, had confronted a 29-year-old neighbor he believed had stolen his bike and some cash, the police report states.

While arguing, Hunnicutt became angry and asked his son to bring him a shotgun. The victim began to walk away when Hunnicutt pursued him and fired the gun near his shoulder. The victim, 29, was not injured.

Police arrested Hunnicutt, who was deemed to be intoxicated, and charged him with attempted murder.
