Singles Mingle

Clover First Baptist Church invites single and single-again Christian adults of all denominations to a summer singles mingle at 7 p.m. Friday at the church, 117 S. Main St., Clover. The event will include food, fun, fellowship and networking with area singles. Child care will not be available.

VBS

u First Baptist Church in York will hold its VBS, Son Harvest County Fair, on Sundays and Wednesdays July 27, July 30 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Also, on Aug. 3, they'll hold a Country Fair Day from 5 to 7 p.m.

u Haven of Rest Baptist Church will hold VBS from 6 to 8 p.m. July 28 to Aug. 1. Transportation is provided if needed. For details, call 684-1811 or (704) 607-1715.

u Pine Grove Baptist Church, 5415 Hwy. 557, Lake Wylie, welcomes children to join a trail ride through the desert Southwest with Cactus Canyon vacation Bible school from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. Aug. 10-13. Pardners will ride the trails of adventure-filled Bible stories, create cool Western crafts, enjoy refreshing snacks and gallop through recreation activities. Ice cream social

St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1550 St. Paul Church Road, Clover, will have an old fashioned ice cream social from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The event includes hotdogs and homemade ice cream. All are welcome.

CBS coffee

Community Bible Study will have an orientation coffee for prospective members at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 6 at the River Hills Community Church on S.C. 49 in Lake Wylie.

CBS is an interdenominational Bible Study with leadership coming from our local area. It is an opportunity for women of all ages to be nutured, encouraged and challenged in God's Word. It is open to all women, of all faiths, and of all knowledge levels.

This year the group will be studying the Gospel of Mark and Paul's Letter to the Ephesians.

A children's ministry program is available for 5-6 years and 2-4 years and child care is provided for children under 2 years.

Preschool program

First United Methodist Church Preschool is enrolling children who will be 3 or 4 before Sep.1 for the 2008-2009 school term.

There are a few four day spots remaining. These spots are from 8 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday. The program focuses on the kindergarten readiness skills for the Clover School District. They also offer music, art and Spanish and the Christian curriculum Godly Play.

The church is also enrolling for its August Summer Camp program.

Divorce Care

Pine Grove Baptist Church, of Lake Wylie, is holding a divorce care class meets on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. Childcare will be provided. To register call the church office at 831-2015 or e-mail: pgbapt@bellsouth.net. The church is also offering a Henry Blackaby study of "Experiencing God", on Sundays at 4:45 p.m. Everyone invited.
